Hello everyone!
We had a great meeting last Thursday at Sherry's house to discuss "The Boys in the Boat". It was beautifully written and such a great discussion, so if you haven't had a chance to read it, it is definitely worth your while! Thanks Sherry for everything you did to make it so interesting, including you tube video of The Boys during the opening ceremony and their unorthodox greeting to Hitler. It was a great night.
We meet at 8:30 p.m., but always welcome stragglers so come when you can!
Here is what is coming up:
Nov 6-Bring your favorite children's picture book-Kate Hill's house
Dec 4-"The Happy Prince" by Oscar Wilde-Penny McCord's house. This is a REALLY fast read.
Jan 22 or 29 TBD-"Bonhoeffer" by Eric Metaxas-Melanie Pocock's house (this is a big book so get started now. It might take you three months to read it, but I think you will find it well worth your time).
Feb 26-"Destiny of the Republic" by Candice Millard-Cecia Croft/Janis Aden
We could use hostesses for March and April, so let me know if you are willing.
